Will be The Hunt be dumped to TV for political reasons, as it happened to Spectral?

Do you remember Spectral? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmC3ZhIHHi4

The movie was pulled from release out of the blue. The whole decision didn't make any sense: the movie looked fantastic, and it was actually quite a decent pop-corn movie. Not the movie of the year, but hands down above the average level last years.

But it didn't the political agenda: it was too white, it portrayed military as professionals instead of clowns, it didn't score any diversity/gender/oppression points. It was pulled out, forgotten and eventually dumped to TV. The director, Nic Mathieu, is vanished. Probably blacklisted.

I guess that's what's going to happen with Craig Zobel, The Hunt's director. With regard to The Hunt, probably it will be dumped to TV, but not before US elections. Mark my words.

They'll probably hold off for a year or so then go direct to video.

Guess I was wrong. Going to theaters in 2 weeks. I was figuring to see it alone when my wife tells me last night that she wants to see it as well.

If by TV you mean streaming and/or cable, then yes

Released to theatres a week after Super Tuesday.

It's middle of March. They've suddenly decided to release it... just when the coronovirus is supposed to be kicking in and movie theaters will be probably empty.

A lousy virus won't stop people going to the theatre. We were told the cinema was going to turn into a shooting range for The Joker and people swarmed to the theatre.
