I forget the exact number but it's 5-10 years after the Return of the Jedi, I think.

Just googled to confirm. S1 takes place 5 yrs after ROTJ. 25 years before The Force Awakens.

I try not to post misinformation. That character has a name revealed later in the series. People called him baby Yoda because he's of Yoda's race but that isn't his name.

They refer to the Empire falling about five years before the first episode, which supposedly occurred about a year after Endor.

So six years after Luke Skywalker was seen on the second Death Star dragging away Lord Vader’s corpse as a war trophy.

Which explains why Moff Gideon was visibly terrified when that same Jedi came rampaging through his ship
