Saw this earlier. It's good to finally get a trailer. I remember reading that this was originally scheduled to be released last December, and then it just wasn't for whatever reason.

I think it looks good. I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm guessing though that it's US premiere date will come after its UK date. Maybe even months after.

Yeah I remember that it was supposed to be a december release. But it looks like all three episodes will be aired by the end of the year. Though I dont know when it will be available in my country, I'll propably have to wait until it's streaming somewhere.

But it looks good to me too, looking forward to it. I love alien invasion stuff.

I know that the BBC's recent Agatha Christie adaptations premiered in England, and then a while later (at least a couple of months, I think) they finally showed up in the US on Amazon Prime.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same release strategy was used for War of the Worlds.

It's weird because we have a channel called BBC America, so you'd think they could premiere everything in the US on their own channel, and at the same time as the UK premiere, but that's not how they do it.

The trailer feels really creepy.

All characters look English. I mean, really English, not diverse-English. Actually, it seems historically accurate. Where are the blacks? the Indians? the Hispanics? BBC is the company that made the documentary for kids about Ancient Romans in Britannia including diverse black Romans. It feels really strange to see early XXth century England portrayed accurately. You must wonder... what's wrong with the filmmakers? Why they have done such a thing?

And then, you see men fighting to protect their country. WTF??? Everybody knows that men were just useless idiots and women were the ones doing the fighting and making Arts and Science progress. Again, why is this series doing that? white males fighting for their country and family? seriously?? What's wrong with the producers?

This is not how it's done. You get some white males and make them look useless, so women and black males can save the day. THAT'S quality.

I hope the BBC fires the whole team. They're clearly unable to reach the standard of modern BBC. Please, get Chibnail to edit this so it fits our time.

Odd. Very odd.

LOL. The BBC really is pretty far left aren't they?

But never fear. According to the synopsis I've read, the two main characters will "attempt to defy society and start a life together." So they won't leave you totally hanging on the social commentary.

Starts 6 Oct in UK.

First I've heard of this. Personally, I wish it was set in the seventies or something, not this far back. I'm just kinda tired of the old stuff lately like Westworld. Could have been a Stranger Things for the 70s generation.
