Joker

At least the joker isn't a big part of the trailer. That upset a lot of people with the last movie.

reply

Is this movie still in the ill-fated Leto's Joker universe?

reply

Not sure. All I know is that people wanted more joker, but not leto joker.

reply

But from the leaflet on the wall (in the trailer) the joker looks like Leto's Joker and not Phoenix's Joker.

Well, probably this movie was shot with Leto's Joker in mind but they scrapped that.

reply

It was apparently a stand in cause Leto was making Morbius. I think Leto did some ADR so its his voice

reply

What is ADR?

reply

Automated dialogue replacement or in simpler terms voice work after production usually for promos or to add during a scene last min

reply

Not necessarily “last minute”. Most films utilize massive amounts of ADR during post production for a number of reasons. This is why you almost never notice dialogue-related audio issues in a film. This stuff is worked and polished until it’s as clean and professional as humanly possible. In fact, I’d say that on your average film, far more post work goes into the audio mix than the image (with the exception of vfx-heavy movies like Avatar, of course).

reply

Oh, it was a scheduling conflict, was it?

Yeah, the other cast members hated Leto, his reviews were bad, and audiences hated him in the role. Good thing he had a scheduling conflict.

reply

With a better script and costume he can work

reply

Rumor has it that Robbie couldn't stand him, and didn't want him back.

I thought he was a sucky Joker, so I'm okay with that.

reply

On his Instagram he kinda teased hes still joker unless Pattinson's batman rectons some of the current canon

reply

Okay... two other guys are currently playing the Jojer, but Leto says he's still the Joker.

Right.

reply

Whos the other actor besides phoniex

reply

Two other guys? Phoenix and?

reply

Oh, somebody above said a different guy is playing the Joker in "Birds of Prey etc.".

reply

That Joker wasn't Leto's fault.

It was in a Frank Miller "Hardcore" Batman series where Batman said things like, "I'm fucking Batman" and killed a lot of people. The Joker in that story looked just like Leto and had no personality traits associated with insane mania.

reply

Yea... it's not all Leto's fault.

However, when an actor played a character and it worked tremendously well (e.g., Ledger's Joker) the actor got all the praises and awards.

So when it didn't work, it's only fair that the actor also would recieve all the criticisms and complaints.

Can't have one without the possibility of getting the other.

reply

I hate Ledge's Joker, as he isn't insane, doesn't act manic, and seems like a sex pervert type of me, but it was well written. Leto had like no lines and wasn't allowed to even appear insane, just serious.

We didn't even learn Why so Serious!

reply

Sulk much?
