Joe Cole is embarrassingly miscast

Pretty fun show but Joe Cole is so miscast it’s embarassing, he doesn’t have the presence for the Michael Corleone type character he plays, he fared much better in Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror because they played to his strengths.

The dialogue is cringe at times and his stilted delivery in the same monotone expression makes it even more glaringly bad, the actors who play the undercover cop and the drug addled brother are handling it much better.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm watching him and I just can't get my head around that he's supposed to be in charge of the whole of London's underworld! Nah he's like a little boy lost. Totally miscast like you said Rocky.

Not very believable, him and the other young black man who is obviously meant to be some sort of consigliere to the family, when they’re threatening the gypseys in the restaurant it was laughable, like anyone would be intimidated by these two, theyd be taken out in a matter of minutes by most hardcore criminals.

He’s pretty solid to me... he played the role just fine

Yep he's terrible. I just watched the first episode and he's so miscast I laugh every time he acts the tough guy. Aside from the comic book level fight scenes the rest of it is mediocre to say the least. Why is this tripe so highly rated?

Action is good though cartoonish and repetitive. The plot is all over the place what with too many characters and parties involved. Keep it simple!

The clowns criticizing Cole’s performance complain he isn’t believable as a Michael Corleone figure. They miss an obvious point. Sean isn’t supposed to be Michael Corleone. Just the opposite. He loses everything and comes to a violent end. He’s a rash, reactive kid who’s plainly not ready to step into Daddy’s shoes. Do the prior posters really not get that?
