The homeless bearded guy *spoilers*

So this guy falls from the sky and can barely talk. Then in the final episode he fights the evil looking woman and the all of a sudden he can talk? What happened?!

reply

Bad writing is what happened.

That's your only problem with the show??/

reply

Who said I had a problem with the show? Just needed an explanation.

reply

He's been eating a lot of apples.

reply

He is an Istari, just recently getting his own body - a god as human. He just needs time to adapt.

reply

A god that forgot EVERYTHING??

reply

I saw that reference to Istari in the last S1 episode. Was he not an Istari up until that encounter. What made everything “click”?

reply

I think it may have been implied when those white things were threatening the harfoot girl, that is what caused the wizard to finally come to himself. I believe when Gandalf came back as Gandalf the White, his memories also were all messed up or suppressed or something.

reply

Is it confirmed Gandalf or are we just assuming here?

reply

I haven't heard 100% confirmation that the Rings of Power Istari is Gandalf. I think people are assuming he is, but I'm hoping he isn't. I'm sure it will end up being the same Maiar that came to Middle Earth as Gandalf in the third age tho.

reply

I have a suspicion that it is in fact Gandalf based on the last episode. He says to the girl hobbit "When in doubt, follow your nose."

I remember gandalf saying something similar to Frodo when they were trapped in Moria.

reply

He is an Istari (low level god) and overwhelmed with being on Middleearth. By using his powers, he gains control over all his powers and isn't so confused anymore. If you look, it is quite obvious, that he gets more normal every time he uses his powers. The powerful attack on the cult members was definitely his most powerful move and he get most of his stuff under control afterwards.
