Things from the book that didn't make the movie (possible spoilers)

Bill's wife Audra losing her mind and then the end where Bill rides with Audra down the street on his old bike and she wakes up from her catatonic state.

Beverly's husband coming to Derry and Tom bringing Audra to It's lair where she loses her mind and Tom dies of shock from seeing It's true form.

Henry attacking Eddie and breaking his arm again.

The giant storm after It is killed that destroys most of Derry.

Any other things from the book that didn't make the movie?

I was simply making a post so people could put what was missing from the movie you narcissistic twat.

I beg your pardon.

The child orgy, thankfully

Also those homophobic thugs getting framed for the murder of the guy thrown over the bridge

There were also no eggs found in It's lair during the final battle like there was in the book and in the tv miniseries.

reply

Um, the 1990 miniseries DIDN'T have eggs, neither.

reply

Oh, ok, thanks for the correction. I haven't seen the miniseries in quite a while, but I thought the eggs were in there.

TBH it was really annoying that for the second time Maturin, the giant turtle, was left out of the goddam story. Also cutting out Audra sucked and the storm that destroys most of Derry could've been an epic ending.......

reply

Please, do tell how Maturin was meant to have featured in this! I mean, it never spoke, never physically manifested in the real world, just in Bill's mind, and it was dead when he was an adult. It would've confused viewers greatly and added to the budget, and people would've complained about the CGI, once again. Sometimes it pays not to indulge a book author at the height of his cocaine consumption.

They could've introduced the Turtle during the drugged out hallucination that Bill had with Mike ?

That's how.
When they showed IT crash-landing on earth.

For the record Foebane72 I'm not the troll hiding under the bridge waiting for the Three Billy Goats. I watched this film with an open mind and it was garbage. Nice to see you defending it so sternly though : )

reply

The entire turtle bit is stupid; glad they left it out of It.

I've only read the book once but I remember a disturbing scene between Henry and another one of the bullies that was in a junkyard. It was something sexual. The same bully had also killed his baby brother or sister too I think. I'm thankful that was left out, but when I read the book I remember being surprised as this kid seemed way worse than Henry. I guess the movie makers thought he would steal the spotlight from Henry.
