When was the last time a nearly finished movie was cancelled?

Yeah, the 90's Fantastic Four movie is the only one that comes to mind for me, as others are mentioning - I know there are uncompleted movies that have been abandoned before, but to vault a completed movie - especially an expensive one like this - gotta be pretty rare.

Empires of the Deep, The one with Louis C.oc.K, etc

Going back to the silent era, Charlie Chaplin’s The Seagull was fully completed, screened, and never released. chaplin apparently burned the film and negatives a few years later as a tax write-off.

He produced it only, Erich von Stroheim directed it.
