Of course, these things are subjective and everyone's entitled to their point of view. But I'm surprised at the negativity too - I was on the edge of my seat watching this. The performances were great, and it's very well made. The ending delivered for me. It's a simple story, but the kind of story I love. Don't know if I want to admit this, but I've watched it 3 times, haha. Of course, the first watch was the most powerful, but this movie is right up my alley. Really liked it. Agree with SASKIA47 - As a fan of slashers and suspense, I liked it. It's well made; the filmmaking craft and acting are at a higher level than a lot of slasher movies. All the characters had some depth, and the suspense was very well done. Maybe the film thinks it's deeper than I found it to be - and there are ideas in there that must have impressed critics - some interesting stuff to a degree. I enjoyed it as a horror/slasher fan. It delivered on that level so I can recommend it to fans of the genre. Yeah, the 90's Fantastic Four movie is the only one that comes to mind for me, as others are mentioning - I know there are uncompleted movies that have been abandoned before, but to vault a completed movie - especially an expensive one like this - gotta be pretty rare. That's true; I see what you mean. Seems like a good guy, as does Rich Schweikart. But in what way do you feel sorry for Cliff? What happened to him? We saw how Jimmy handled his guilt and pain after Chuck's death - he buried it and pretended it isn't there. So I guess he'll handle this the same way - I still think there's a betrayal coming for Jimmy that will send him over the edge into full Saul mode, throwing himself into that character to ignore his pain.
