What other character from Big Bang do you think could pull off a "young" show.

Imo, Penny could pull it off. Her character seems like she was very interesting and full of surprises.

Howard mainly due to his mother

No. He’d just be some generic nerdy kid dealing with being bullied and an obnoxious mom. Same with Leonard. It only works for Sheldon because he lives with a “normal” family who are also great characters.

Penny was a run of the mill girl like thousands of others wandering the malls. Only thing that made her interesting (besides her cleavage in earlier seasons) was her outsider interaction and reactions to the guys, Amy and Bernadette. Nothing about her would make for an interesting show as a kid. It would be another generic Disney Channel show.
