Tyler Perry movies make lots of money, but get low ratings (original's IMDB was 4.7).
Seven movies playing in over 2,500 screens, mostly crap.

I saw it today! (Friday, second day of release), and thought it was very funny, sort of the first Perry, or at least, Madea sequel.
