That would be tragically, and shamefully sad for Warner/DC. Even though AM&TW will not out gross JL WW it will be close enough that the burn will be felt.
The two movies though performing so similar could not be more dissimilar in their fortunes. The two fan bases are polar opposites. share
Plus if you look at their budgets.....162,000,000 for Ant-Man and the Wasp and 300,000,000 for Justice League...and a difference in box office of 60,411,654.00....you have to admit Ant-Man and the Wasp is actually the more profitable movie.

The final difference between the two movies will be roughly $30 Million. Japan's numbers have yet to be tallied and China has maybe about another $15 to $20 Million to be included into the AM&TW's total. To your point; Marvel will indeed make a nice but modest profit from AM&TW along with a very positive future for the character(s).
I went to see JL in theaters and it is just stunning to me that so few so-called DC fans showed up for JL. To this day I still don't understand what happened to them??!! In the IMDB bad ol' days one would think that there was nothing BUT DC fans. It appears that they were nothing more than a loud and obnoxious select few of them. Maybe they were bots and the internet is now being systematically sanitized for the world's protection. Real, fun, interesting discussion has all been just about stifled since then regardless.

I agree and am pleased that Ant Man and the Wasp will turn a tidy profit and will probably guarantee that there will be a final sequel.
Of course Ant-Man was the more profitable movie (rather substantially, I dare to say).
Justice League was one of the most expensive (and most hyped) movies ever made and it severely underperformed losing the studio over $50 million. Ouch is correct!
Ant-Man & The Wasp, on the other hand, was far from a flop. Besides the fact that it had a modest budget for an MCU movie, ultimately this sequel exceeded the expectations of many and it ended up outgrossing its predecessor in every way. This character’s franchise is already worth billions. So eat that steamy brown meal, DC drones!
