Show kind of rewritten for Constantine. Yay or nay?

This was a science fiction time travel show, with a good dose of comedy and adventure. Lots of fun. But basically in the scifi wheel house. Along comes Constantine. A great character played by a great actor from a short lived show on the wrong network. And they bring him on board with a supernatural story. Lots of fun. But he's great so we keep him around. And now the show has kind of been overhauled into a bizarre Buffy stole a Tardis formula. Cause we need to generate story plots to justify him being here. Other characters on the show are either written off, or reduced entirely to comedic side material because there's simply nothing for them to do. So what do we think, Legends fans? Is this a change for the better? Or simply something we must endure? Or has the show just gone and jumped the shark on ya? My two cents: Constantine's been great, but he's outworn his welcome. The show needs to scuttle the supernatural and get back to the nuts and bolts of its original formula. Or, my preference: I'd cancel this show, and just give Constantine and Sara a new teamup show. Double down on the Buffy formula. Nobody else is using it. And that Supernatural show is finally ending. Needs a replacement.

Agreed. Was a late comer, and have been binging the show. Up to series 5 now. Each series should be a new/different experience, but the last few have been all about the magic. To be fair, they've fought magical/demonic creatures from day 1, but now it does feel like Constantine is the main character, the others are on and off on trips or removed entirely.

They might as well have revived the Constantine series, especially in light of Arrow's cancellation.

I'm pretty much in agreement with you. I really enjoyed this show up until this past season which just felt meh to me. I was hyped when they brought back Constantine back in S3 since I'm a huge fan of the character and enjoyed the (sadly) cancelled NBC show. But, honestly, I think two seasons of magic stuff is enough. Just give Constantine his own show or have him be relegated to guest appearances. In the end I don't think it really matters since I have a feeling Legends won't be around after another season or so anyway since they're about to hit the 100 episode mark for syndication.

I'm glad it's not just me then, who has noticed a drastic change in the show from decent to almost too absurd.

it all started when snart died, in this humble viewers opinion.
