Surprisingly good
Overhyped but still a solid movie.
Worse than 2013 in pretty much every single way.
Not as funny as I remember it being but still holds up pretty well.

It was watchable until the last few seasons. Those were just a chore to get through and I ended up fast forwarding through most of Season 9 itself just to get to the finale. Season 1 was so fucking phenomenal but they just totally lost steam after that and never recovered. I don't regret watching (most) of it but goddamn that drop off after S2 was HUGE. As bad as Arrow got it was at least tolerable all the way through. Flash's tertiary characters and shitty writing (which got worse every season) just demolished it. This show just became such a trainwreck and I'm glad it's over honestly.
Just finished Magician: Apprentice by Raymond Feist. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes old school High Fantasy.
Yeah, I'm aware that the Drizzt books are just a small part of the Forgotten Realms universe. He just seemed like the most interesting/renowned character in that setting so I mainly focused on his books. I have a handful of other FR books that I haven't gotten around to yet but I'll definitely give them a go at some point.
I'm more of a Sci-Fi guy myself but I have enjoyed some fantasy.

I've tried to start The Wheel of Time multiple times but the pacing is so glacial it just ends up frustrating me. Maybe I'll give it another go when I'm retired and have mountains of free time ahead of me. I really like the concept though and the writing quality is phenomenal, near Tolkien level. Most fantasy I've tried bores me as it feels much too samey and too similar to LOTR. Even some of my favorites I've listed are pretty tropey but I felt like the authors at least had fun messing around with the tropes (Eddings in particular did this). Haven't tried Sanderson (yet) and Rothfuss (Name of the Wind) seems to have the same problem Jordan did with WoT did so I dropped it pretty quickly after starting it (I'll probably give it another chance at some point though).
Agreed. I just rolled my eyes when the typical "Women have it so hard" speech hit but I didn't let it detract from the movie. Making Justin Long's character a typical rapey douchbag almost came close to annoying me but I understood what they were doing with him. Overall the stupid moments didn't detract from it too much IMHO.
I was pretty sure from the get go that Keith was a red herring. They intentionally casted the IT guy because they knew most people would subconsciously assume he's the killer/kidnapper/etc (or at the very least involved somehow).
Pretty much agree with this. I would probably bump it up to an 8 because I enjoyed what they were doing with Long's character until they just flat out made him an asshole and (implied) rapist. Came so close to being a great movie.
Sometimes you want a McBurger. Not every meal has to be 5 star.
Again, like I said, the developers of this show made it clear that they were doing their own thing with the IP. If you want the story of the games/books why not just play the games or read the books again? Why does everything have to be a retelling/rehash of existing material?
Agreed. I miss when this show was fun and lighthearted. It's starting to feel more like Arrow lately and not in a good way.
