Yep, they finally addressed that last night. The first thing I said was if she was wearing the Yellowstone brand, how could they toss her? Just as strange, the blonde barrel racer was still in the bunkhouse..
So that Y means you are willing to break the law( even commit murder) for Dutton…🙁
Dutton, Rip and Kayce are murderers and are no better than Jamie’s real father ..yet viewers root for them.
..only difference is : Garret went to jail and paid for his crime .. the Duttons didn’t.
And that is thanks to Jamie who has always used his expertise as a lawyer and now his position in the council committee (?)to protect them against law cases etc.
And what did he get in return this week .. a punch in the stomach from John Dutton..
Dutton could have ,at least, warned him..
and when he was down Beth gloating , had her piece of flesh too.
Beth so called wants to save the ranch for her father yet she is not willing to team up with Jamie and fight together.
Jamie is about to snap and all that anger and pain , inside turmoil, is going to explode.
Dutton just keeps on punching him to the ground.
Beth ,wiping her feet on him.
His own father, using him to get back at Dutton
and his girlfriend.. . she’ll stay with baby son as long as Jamie disowns the Duttons.
Yes, the brand means you are willing to break the law.
Don't forget that Jamie killed that reporter, so he's no angel either.
The odd thing about movies and TV shows is that we tend to "root" for those whose story we are privy to. It's always been that way. There are very few decent and moral characters in this whole series, but it's what keeps us glued to the TV.
My wife and I both agreed that we really felt sorry for Jamie this past episode. John and Beth didn't just undermine his run for governor, they tortured him and enjoyed it, but that makes good storytelling. Will Jamie's backstabbing push him to his bio father and join him in attacking the Duttons? The way they treated Jamie, they've given him a real good reason to go against the family - good storytelling.
My guess from where we are right now is that when they finally wrap this series, it will be Jaimie who saves the ranch after bailing out a major screw up by Beth. But honestly, with the cruelty of both Beth and John in dealing with Jaimie, I'm kind of rooting for the Rainwater and Mo to acquire the land, which is another possibility.

Q.Don't forget that Jamie killed that reporter, so he's no angel either.
@.I know but the circumstances were different .. he wasn’t planning on killing her and in a moment of panic he knocked her against the car to stop her from leaving , he just wanted to stop her so he could reason with her.
Duttons go out knowingly they are going to kill .
Q.Will Jaimie's backstabbing push him to his bio father and join him?
@.It might .. depends ..he might realises that his real father is no better than Dutton .. just using him for his own agenda.
Part of me wants that Jamie hits back… makes Beth and Dutton pay for how they have treated Him but at the same time , I don’t want Jamie to lose himself in the process.

Q. Watch it again. He met Sarah in a remote area (what was she thinking!)….
@I will have to rewatch the scene then .. I remember he felt remorse ..wasn’t her death in part why Jamie ended up taking the rifle and wanting to commit suicide?
They met there because she was out there canoeing I thought and Jamie didn’t want to be seen in public with her.
But I could be mistaken .. I only saw the scene once.
But I do remember he panicked and that her death and having to stage it as an accident, really made an impact on Jamie … he felt remorse something the Duttons and Rip don’t feel.
Yes, of all the characters, he showed the most emotion after killing someone, but I'm not sure his reaction wasn't an equal part of "weakness" and remorse.
That emotion was weakness, not remorse.
Spoiler...
Now we know that Jamie, as the Attorney General, knows the person behind a conspiracy to commit multiple homicides on his "family" as well as numerous other innocent murdered in the process and Jamie is okay with that even to the point of hugging the perpetrator and continues to make plans to further the agenda.
Jamie is no better or worse than any main character on this show...he is just more cowardly.

@. I don’t agree.
No one thinks Jamie is an angel.
As the family lawyer, he has worked hard over the years to protect and cover up Dutton’s dirt.
He is willing to twist and turn the law to favour his family.
But he is not a cold murderer like John Dutton, Kayce and Rip.
Jamie just found out that his bio father is behind the Dutton family attack ..
.. will he be willing to kill now that Dutton has yet again betrayed him .. we will have to wait and see.
Heh. Noticed that second point as well. Laramie (the blonde) took her firing and being told to vacate quite nonchalantly, especially since she was the spark that ignited all the ruckus in the first place. There were several shots of her lounging in bed with Walker after the firing and before Teeter begged to stay, iirc in the next episode.
shareI guess the last episode answered your question. John didn't know that she got branded.
