Most of this particular sub genre are awful, but this is a legit good movie.

i fucken loved it.

also a good prelude would be the episode "And All Through the House" (tales from the crypt S01, E02)

It's really fun. I grew up with Austrian Grandparents and parents telling us about Krampus. So this was right up my alley.

Black Christmas (1974) is the G.O.A.T

Christmas Evil (1980), Don't Open Till Christmas (1984), Gremlins (1984), Silent Night Deadly Night (1984) and Black Christmas (2006) are the other good ones, all of them are better than Krampus which is just okay.
