This better be a hard R.

If they Expendables 3 this thing I’ll skip it completely.

As long as it has scenes like this, it should be a winner.

It’s Shane Black, doing Predator, how can it not be? :)

The footage that was screened at Comic Con has been described as hard R rated material. So, I’m sure we’re in for a bloody good time. Oh yeah.

reply

That’s reassuring. Just hope the comiccon footage wasn’t misleading. Like they showed directors cut footage that would never pass mpaa censors.

reply

That’s entirely possible. But, I doubt this is the case. From everything I’ve seen and read about The Predator so far, it looks very promising in terms of graphic violence. Should be intense. Supposing the footage WAS intended to be shown only at Comic Con and subsequently released in a director’s cut, I have a good feeling the movie will rightfully earn an R rating.

reply

It's supposed to be right? They can't possibly be that stupid and switch gear so soon.

reply

Seriously, movies not rated R are not worth my time.

reply

So no need for character building, tension , suspense , drama , plot ....
You just want to see people dismembered?

I'd prefer that most movies start going PG13 for a change, to reasses what films are about, gore and blood is not what makes the film scary and realistic, quite the opposite sometimes, films are about illusion of showing only something while leaving other things to our imagination, it is the tone, editing, lighting, characters, story, and so on that makes the film scary. If there's gore and grittiness and yet the film feels completely removed from relatable reality or horror, then R-rating used to achieve those things is meaningless.

This was shown as a trailer before The Meg so it's probably a 12 or something. It looked awful & I'll be skipping.
