If They Had Kept the Sam Elliott Role from Road House 1989 -- Who Would Have Played the Role?

The Sam Elliott character -- "Wade Garrett" has been removed from the new Road House. Garrett was an "aging good gunslinger"(bouncer) who mentors the hero and comes to help him fight the bad guys at the Road House.

But if the role were still there...who could play it?

My first vote goes to ...Sam Elliott.

Anybody else?

Sam Elliot is 79 now which would have made him around 44 when Road House was made/released. Jake Gyllenhaal is 43 now. Crazy.

Did we ever see Sam's abs in the original? Maybe he was just as fit and we didnt know

Kind of, he showed a scare from getting stabbed and saw his pubes.

lol pubes

He looked about 79 back then, from what I remember

Liam Neeson obviously.

That would be good. I'm gonna say Ben Affleck. I'd call him an aging star and he's 6'2" so I'd say he could be believable as a bouncer.

Sam Elliott would be the best although this version looks terrible and I don't mean that as - so bad it's good either.
