They shouldn’t have cut 30 minutes from the theatrical version

The theatrical cut is such a badly mangled and incomplete film that has no reason to exist. They could’ve just made a few edits to get a PG-13 rating and then put the three hour version in theaters for everyone to see. We’ll obviously never know how the movie would’ve been received and performed at the box office if that was what was what they did, but honestly, what would they have had to lose? Matt Reeves’ Batman movie was nearly three hours long, and it did fine.

Should have included some of the ultimate edition cuts and cut Doomsday. Movie would have been much better.

I agree. Cutting out the extra scenes with Clark Kent made Superman less developed.

3 hours!

How about make a good 1 hour 40 minutes film. Condense it, cut the rubbish out, and maybe it's a good film then.

the extended cut dosent save this turd. its actually worse.

reply

It really isn’t, unless you just think longer equals bad.

reply

it really is. longer is worse when the movie has shitty writing like this turd

Eh, I don't think it would have made a difference. It's a similar situation to the Alien 3 Theatrical vs Assembly Cut where the Assembly is a much better realized version of the film but all the fundamental issues that turned people off are still present.

The BvS DC is better and in particular, gives necessary insight into Superman's perspective but all the core issues from the theatrical still remain.
