A sociopath or a psychopath?

The main character was obviously suffering from a mental condition. For the experts, how would you analyse him?

Jake Gyllenhaal's character is clearly psychopathic. The biggest piece of evidence for this is his totally unemotional sending of his partner (played by Riz Ahmed) to his death at the hands of one of the gunmen they are chasing - a perfect example of a low-functioning psychopath's inability to empathise and ability to manipulate and abuse others without remorse. Those of you who are saying he has Aspergers are simply wrong - people with Aspergers have difficulty with communicating and engaging with others - they don't cold-bloodedly send people to their deaths.

Experts? You come to a site named MovieChat and ask for expert clinical opinions on someone’s mental/emotional state? My obvious question to you is, what [expletives deleted] is wrong with you? Leaving aside the obvious intellectual deficiency, that is.

are you sure psychopathy is a mental condition? because the psychopaths who run the world have higher IQ's then the rest of the population and are very stable and calculated and very very capable. and they are pure evil among other things. so i sincerly doubt that psychopathy is a mental condition because usually people who suffer from mental illness are the exact opposite of capable.

Sociopath. He's a planner. He carefully plans what he's going to do. Psychopaths are impulsive and act on the moment.
