Bob Iger’s Pride Is The Downfall of Disney and Lucasfilm’s STAR WARS

As of late, rumors have been circulating that Rey Skywalker, the character famously portrayed by Daisy Ridley in the sequel trilogy, is about to return to Star Wars for a new series of post-sequel theatrical movies. Could this be true? We shall see, for in this editorial, we will begin by going through what is out there in the trades, as well as what informed insiders with a solid track record are saying. Then we’ll break down how Rey’s return ties in with Bob Iger’s return to Disney, and what if anything Nelson Peltz, the activist investor who has given Iger a very hard time as of late, can do about it!

reply

Oh for crying out loud, NOT MORE REY! I can't stand her at all!

agreed

REEEEYYYY !!!

Great news ! This time they can use all of Daisy's talents including her exceptional singing and dancing and make Star Wars musicals !

reply

Not exactly.
Star Wars ENDED in 2005. Just like the Godfather ended with GF III, Star Wars ended with Revenge of the Sith.
It is retired and complete. Disney is using that name and putting out crap but that is not Canon and not Star Wars.
Ignore that stuff and go on with your life.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Hans!

Yeah, that shit they've been pumping out is not "Star Wars" at all. It's just a bunch of shitty, overpriced fanfics put out by Kathleen Kennedy and her flying monkeys.

And by the way, the new Rey movie will never happen. KK's on the outs with Disney (for real this time) and she made those BS announcements in London during that event just to get attention and to save her own ass. Most people in the studio didn't even know about these projects, nor had any been greenlighted. Considering Lucasfilm's history of announcing projects that end up getting canned due to lack of funds, fan backlash, or inter-studio politics and infighting; chances are very high that these films she claims to be working on will never see the light of day.
