Remember when the Resistance had lots of ships capable of hyperdrive...

...but they let them get destroyed one by one for a long time and then sent their last ship into the First Order's ship via the aforementioned hyperdrive damaging it in a way which would have been done earlier, with much more damage and saving many valuable lives to the cause?

Didn't it just make you yearn for trade embargoes on Naboo with negotiations seeking to increase the banking guild's economic stranglehold via financial loan setting to drive a wedge into the fragility of confidence in the current chancellor which could offset democratic peace times and unite an empire with the purpose of standardising the weights and measures throughout the galaxy supplying an equality unmatched by anything ever prior to that point?

Maybe I'm just looking back with rose-tinted glasses.

It was a silly premise.

Who thought that was a good idea and signed off on it?

reply

Some ejiot called Kathleen Kennedy apparently!

reply

In terms of running full-bore with a collection of bad ideas and really trying to sell it hard, it ranks up there with Interstellar.

reply

Agreed!

reply

I didn't mind Interstellar, but calling it a good science movie was not accurate.

Note to Science Fiction writers ... gravity kills.

reply

I'm curious what other movies you would lump in this category? Because I also feel that way about this movie and Interstellar lol

reply

Well, I feel Dark Knight Rises had the same problems as Interstellar, but I don't want to pick on Nolan, considering they both land in the "trying to sell it hard" category specifically because he can command big budgets.

That Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls might be a good one... There has to be a Shyamalan movie or two in here, like The Happening (which is one of my favorite bad movies, SO funny and entertainingly terrible).

I haven't seen it, but I bet plenty of people would want to list Justice League here. To me, that one looks more like a traditional failure of simple concepts, and not necessarily a collection of bad ideas.

I'll try to think of more.

Only super space feminist Vice Admiral Holdoor could save the day with her ultimate plan to destroy half the First Order fleet. Ultra Femnazi Rose saved Finn's life and went PETA against the patriarchy of rich folks. Super duper ultra 3rd wave feminist B-52 like bombers and others saved the day by blowing up the dreadnaught. All womyn folks.

Yay womyn!

The prequels without a doubt have been redeemed.

And through piss stained fingers by the sound of it.

Hey man, don't talk about your mother's bladder problems so openly.
