No 4 week bullshit in China

reply

Yawn.

I think the Chinese have much greater priorities than washed-up old sci-fantasy franchises, somehow.

reply

Yeah they have great taste...Minions...Fast and Furious...Secret Life of Pets.

Stunningly good stuff.

reply

Perhaps they prefer their own home-grown movies?

It looks like a low budget Chinese romantic comedy called "The Ex-Files 3: Return of the Exes" released a week before TLJ dominated Chinese box office and killed TLJ in the process: http://comicbook.com/starwars/2018/01/12/star-wars-the-last-jedi-chinese-theaters-dump-92-percent/

reply

Chinese people actually don't like stereotypical, token, "westernised," Asian characters inserted into movies. They find it repellent and racist.

Only hollywood SJW feminists, like the kind who made TLJ, don't understand this.

I was wondering why it opened so much later there (Jan 5) than everywhere else.

And we care about what the Chinese think because......?

reply

They take over the world...?

reply

Good point, foe.

Because China is now the biggest box office market outside US, only slightly smaller than US market in 2016. Failing to crack Chinese market is considered a significant failure for Disney.

But feminism is more important than money, right?

reply

But of course!

So expect MORE chinese inserts in the next film in an attempt to rectify this situation.

Remember the kung fu master stating ACTUAL chinese proverbs in R1? HAHAHA!
