Good question, I can see Solo playing it relatively safe in terms of the Star Wars universe so there will be less uproar, but I think Solo will ultimately be meh.

I'm pretty sure Solo is going to bomb horribly. I just don't see how they can start from scratch and fix all the problems left by the previous directors in so short a time. Plus i'm hearing that even the actors aren't even grasping their roles all that much in that movie, which at least this movie can say the acting isn't one of its bigger problems.

I would wager Solo. I think The Last Jedi had interesting ideas and themes and just was a really dirt-poor execution of them. Solo is a bad idea (we don't need this story) and will be dull as paint, methinks. I could be wrong, but I think it will be superfluous, unoriginal, and boring.
shareSolo can only be pointless wheel spinning that adds nothing to the overall saga, or characters. We know everything we need to know about Han. Who we don't know a lot about is Lando and I hope this movie doesn't waste that opportunity.
The main point of any of these prequel back stories should be to develop other characters, other worlds, other plot lines, which will later come into play in the "ongoing" continuity. For instance, the Hutts play a big role in the universe of the old EU. This film would be a good opportunity to explore that in depth, so when the big blockbuster movies want to use the Hutts, all that groundwork has been laid in the Solo movie. No need to catch up or explain anything.
Last Jedi will be worse. I'm expecting a fun National Treasure in Space adventure movie from Mr. Davinci Code. That will at least be fun to watch.

The worst Solo can be is just a bad movie that ruins the character of Han Solo in his early years. You still have the old movies untouched by what happens in Solo.
The Last Jedi however, changes everything that happend before it, rendering ALL events and ALL movies,comics and stories useless and wiping it all out. Basically starting all anew, with only 1 movie left. It also destroys all previous characters and plot points, mythology and lore. Its just a massive offence to all fans. And besides that its a horrible movie in its own right. With massive plot holes, stupid moments, horrible writing and jokes and a stupid story to begin with.
I'm 100% sure that Solo will be terrible. However, nothing can be worse than TLJ. It simply can't.
