Are children liking TLJ?

I find it hard to believe kids are gonna dig this new Star Wars, and since I haven't got any...let me know what the younglings have to say!

Little boy says: Yeah, I really liked The Last Jedi, it was so cool!

I did like the movie for the most part, but I had to post that.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but my kids and I all loved the movie. They're 11 and 12.

It is never a bad thing for children to enjoy Star Wars! Do they find it...playable? In other words would they be inclined to rush home and dive into the action figures, wield their plastic lightsabers or perhaps video games are more their thing? I guess what I'm asking is does it inspire them to actually play Star Wars?

My son and his friend are constantly having light saber battles, they each have a small collection they bring to each other's house. After TLJ, my son could not stop talking about it, he was so excited and full of energy, he looked like he was about to burst at the seams. I definitely think this movie will inspire role play episodes at home.

Pinkled...count me as a member of the minority. I loved this movie, too!

Well, considering that we both have classic rock based usernames it stands to reason we might share some taste in movies. :)

I thought your username was referring to Floyd and Zep but wasn't sure. I love those bands, too!

Zep is my all-time second favorite(after Queen of course).

My boys (8 & 11) loved it. So did all their friends. So did everyone I know.

When I was leaving the showing I saw it at (December 14th at 7pm EST), I heard all the kids saying how much they liked it and how awesome it was. Both girls and boys liked it. The girls probably liked it because of Rey.

But yeah. Sounds like kids are liking it. More than the adults. But lots of adults are liking it also.

Could just be a child thing. I enjoyed The Phantom Menace when it came out (I was 10 when it came out), but now I don't really like it. I can tolerate Jar Jar still, but lots of the other stuff I can finally see why people didn't like it.

Same thing with Batman & Robin. Loved it as a kid, but now that I'm older, I know it's a terrible movie, especially a Batman movie.

My 13 year old was sitting on the edge of his seat almost the whole time, but then when he realized that I saw how immersed he was he had to act cool. After the movie he said he didn't like how they left some things unresolved and I told him he had better get used to it because now that Disney has made Star Wars a Christmas thing he is going to be taking his children to new Star Wars movies many years from now.
