I'm just not interested in Star Wars anymore..

im not upset and im not protesting im just genuinely not interested. it could be that they oversaturated the market with star wars... or something but im off the bandwagon. i also think this movie will not to as well as people think it will i think the franchise peaked.

It happened to me. I don't watch Star Wars movies. I like to read commentary on the films because I like movies and I like to see how the audience thinks about movies. For me, I don't care to see another Star Wars film. I do, though, enjoy reading discussions about movies and Star Wars offers a lot of discussion.

I feel the same and that's fine. It's not getting older, it's just that the new movies suck. It's worth remembering that Star Wars is basically on it's 9th movie, and any series with that many movies is bound to get old after a while. When I was young I loved the idea of 3 trilogies of SW but I just don't think there's that much to do in this universe. I'd prefer they just move on to a new set of characters unrelated to Luke, Han, etc but for some reason they just keep cramming the old characters back in. It's as if a giant universe really only has a few people. Backstories about fringe characters and spaceships are for super dorks who would probably see anything with the brand on it. They're not legitimate attempts at filmmaking.

I'm still a fan, but I deliberately limit my exposure to everything Star Wars. I knew I'd get sick of it if I delved into every aspect. I wanted to keep the OT special. Same with Star Tours at Disneyland. Good times and great memories. Waited in line in '77 with my dad.

I LOST INTEREST IN THE MAIN MYTHOS OF THE SKYWALKER STUFF. When they go outside of that my interest gets peaked again.

I’ve actually been feeling the same ever since The Force Awakens. I grew up with Star Wars and loved it, but yeah...I’m just over it. All of the promotional materials for The Last Jedi have left me feeling so incredibly meh that I honestly doubt I’ll even see the movie. If you had told 15 year-old me that, he would have scoffed.

Star Wars is good when it goes outside it's comfort zone. I think exploring the moral dilemmas of the Rebels could have made for some great story ideas, instead of just leaning on Jedi/Sith mythos all the time..
