Controversial opinion

I thought KFP4 is slightly better than KFP3 which I liked in the trilogy but had problems like the comedy jarring with the action, the villain not being fleshed out, and the rushed pacing. KFP4 did have problems regarding certain aspects of the story and rushed pacing too but still has heart in the right place and at least the comedy didn't jar with the action. So yeah, I thought this was great fun although the first two KFP films are still miles better.

Here are my ratings for all four of the KFP films.

Kung Fu Panda: 9/10
Kung Fu Panda 2: 10/10
Kung Fu Panda 3: 8/10
Kung Fu Panda 4: 8.5/10

Thought it needed much more humor and it is my least favorite of the series.

That's understandable.

Was never a KFP fan. Part 1 definitely the best, 2 was totally forgettable imo.
3 I just watched now and I liked again a bit more. What I liked that it had a story to tell, which feels like missing before with his dad. Also does Po imo finally really get one his power. He new he had to grow and did.
KFP4 just feels like the typical sequel, because the producers know they still can make money with it. They have not invited the Furious Five actors back to save money and bank instead of the interaction between Cranston and Hung, which worked well in 3 already. Still, everything in the movie felt like a reset. Why would Po's dad now live with them in the town and open a shop with Po's other dad? Why master Po has now give up also his dragon power and is basically FORCED to give it away? It felt so forced. The whole plot with Master Shifu should have been put at the end as a Epilog. After the fight with Chameleon, Po realized, he is getting to old and need a younger successor, or at least doubt on himself. Surprisingly, he had then chosen Zhen over the other candidates.

I only saw the first movie; I liked it, BUT... it ended on such a closed note that I felt any sequel would be pointless from a storyline POV, which is why I never saw any of the sequels.
