One of the best sequels

That's come along in recent times imo.

Agreed , i didnt get a chance to watch this till today. As some one who really doesn't like movies with an abundance of cgi. I was moved by the story and very happy with how is was told and directed.

Great sequel to a great series. How remakes should be done.

Shame it disappeared from the public consciousness not long after

reply

Movies rarely stay in the public conscious anymore. There is just way to much content out there now.

That makes you think what the kids of today will remember when they're older. What they will cling to for nostalgia. The Super Hero era and maybe more video game content than ever before taking over from movies.

For me I have a ton of 80's and 90's movies, good or bad burned into my memory

reply

YouTubers / Tictokers / memes probably over anything else.

reply

Didn't factor that in. They consume more YouTube, social media and many other avenues spread out.

All I had was a kid was crappy TV and movies with a side of video games and sports.

Not taking about future nostalgia. Talking about short term public conscious. 30 or so years ago films would be at the theater for sometimes 6 months, maybe longer. So they were talked about all year long. Now we don't see that anymore. When they hit streaming you may get a bump up but people are all watching different things.

Agreed, a big step up from the first film which was great. Andy Serkis's Caesar Trilogy are all great and Serkis's Caesar is iconic good guy. You can see why many were calling for him to get a Best Actor nod for his performance. Second one is really The Dark Knight/Empire Strikes Back of the series. Great Villain in Koba and the final fight scene atop of the building is epic.

War for the Planet of the Apes is also fantastic and great ending for Caesar. Looking forward to Cornelius era films coming up, going to be hard to top Andy Serkis in his role though.
