It's a horrible life when you think of it. Guy doesn't even sleep

Like it feels that he jumps every day or two days. They don't even show him sleep and resting. His mind never rests. Every day he jumps into life of new person and have to absorb all their problems. He likes them. Then jumps again.

And for us its entertaining. But for him it have to be hard. Imagine doing it for months and years?
Never resting. Not one day.

I actually always wondered and wanted characters to just screw problems of those stupid people. Just get into plane or car and have a week off. Also he could have try to find people he met when jumps into same timeline.

I'm glad then they finally did that with The 100 actress. Finally we see people he previously met.

I'm basing this reply off of the original Quantum Leap...which I have not watched in about 20 years. So this will need to be fact checked against the show's canon.

Maybe because after stepping into the device and getting transformed into energy he no longer retires sleep. I can't recall any show where he requires food or the need to go to the bathroom. Although a good premise to start the show would be jumping into the body of someone that just ate like 20 tacos from Taco Bell and Sam realizes what is going on. "Oh boy."

Back to the original question though, when does Al sleep? He's always there for the next adventure and all the way through it whenever the story requires. Is it ever specified in the show the time it takes between leaps? Maybe it does take a week...take away the "stay tuned next week!" teaser at the end of each episode. Al gets to sleep and then is on call until they track down where Sam is next.

That's the best I can come up with before heading off to work.

his mind might not have, but the bodies of people he possesses - need.

He NEEDS to eat and sleep. It's just that writers don't show it. He was unconsciousness in one episode, being drugged by some military people. And we saw him waking up on the bed.

And in new show it really feels like he is there for 2-3 days.

I am 100% confident, we had scenes where it was 100% clear, that day(s) passed and Sam for this slept. Just because todays shows have to stretch everything, does not mean it was always like this. Compare e.g. Star Trek Picard with TNG, the plot of one/two episode TNG is now enough for one whole season.

He sleeps in the bodies of people he leaps into. He's in these leaps for days at a time, so clearly he sleeps.

What I want to know, is how does peeing work when he leaps into women?

Yeah, what if they all had ebola and they were all sick, that would suck
