Someone please explain to me the "immaculate conception"

Is she some sort of Savior? God sent?

reply

Okay, so now can someone tell me why SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER the hell the Jake clone thinks of the human boy as a "son", and was willing to give up his tactical advantages to save him? And MORE SPOILERS MORE SPOILERS the human boy ended up saving the Jake avatar, I mean was there any fucking reason except plot armor???

Is he supposed to be Jake's biological son, which would be a physical impossibility, or were they supposed to have developed a bond during the kid's captivity that totally failed to register?

reply

The human boy is Quarritch’s biological son. How Jake came to be in possession of him as a baby isn’t explained.

reply

Is Quarritch the muscle daddy from the first film?

If so, why would Jake's second Avatar take a special interest in him??? I still don't get that plot point.

reply

Yes Quarich was (and is, sort of) the villain.

What’s Jake’s ‘second Avatar’? Afaik his brother had an avatar, Jake took it over, then he fully ‘possesed’ it when his human body died.

My guess is that after the battle in the first film there were widows and orphans, and the Sullys took some pity on Spider for killing his dad and took him in 🤷🏻‍♂️

reply

Oh, I can see why Blue Jake had the relationship he did with the kid. I just don't see why the bad-guy Jake Avatar got attached to the little pest, or vice versa.

At no point did they seem to like each other, or to have anything in common.

reply

Who is ‘the bad-guy Jake Avatar’?

reply

The big blue marine.

reply

That’s the Quaritch avatar. The ‘Jake Avatar’ is the avatar of the hero, named Jake.

The Quaritch avatar was attached to Spider because he is Quaritch’s son.

reply

Facehugger. Sigourney Weaver's had this problem before.

reply

Presumably the Gaya-equivalent Pandora-god impregnated Grace’s avatar to create a super-girl with powers as an antidote to all the planetary attacks by evil humans. It’s pretty obvious that she will grow up to have enormous world-controlling abilities that will lay waste to the human attackers.

Of course, the main reason for all this is that it removes straight white male Jake as the main hero and shifts it onto a Mary Sue, just like Rey Skywalker.

reply

It's easy: bad writing to get Sigourney Weaver another paycheck.

reply

Quite simple. Someone got hot and bothered with the Grace avatar while it was suspended in a vat. I suspect Norm (in his avatar body).

reply

It's Cameron's ultra feminazi fantasy no males required

reply

Don't ask questions.
