Grace (Sigourney Weaver)

How do you guys think she's gonna return to the film, as she's listed in the credits?

She didn't die after all?

reply

Perhaps she's listed in the credits because there are flashbacks to scenes from the first film which include her?

OR maybe she didn't die after all...

reply

I find it hard to believe (plus I'm not hoping) that she'll only apear through flashbacks. Although it is also far fetched if she comes back to life. Hopefully James Cameron will find a believable way to pull her back to the franchise.

I'm also really curious about the plots for the sequels. I assume a big part of it will be the humans returning for the valuable material, but I don't want this to become another "death start plot". The death star that kept returning to the star wars franchise annoyed me a little as it was just the same plot happening over and over again.

reply

I think she'd just be in flashbacks. Maybe laying still for a funeral or something.

The repetitive Death Star was one thing that annoyed me in the Star Wars movies. The Death Star itself was bad enough. But that's a tangent, lol.

Anyway, I have a feeling (and hope) that the sequels will tell us more about Pandora. I think the second one has some deep-sea footage, but I could be wrong.

Getting her back is easier, as it was setup in the original. But she also said she is playing a different character.

Stephen Lang is another story. He was very dead at the end of the first. And why bring him back anyway. He was such an over the top one dimensional villain in the first film.

I wish he'd bring back some of his old collaborators like Michael Biehn and Lance Henriksen

Playing a different character? Refresh my memory, do the people in the Avatar story have faster-than-light space travel, or are they confined to sublight travel with years spent voyaging from planet to planet and with time slowing on shipboard as they travel?

Because if it's all sublight, Sigourney could play Grace's mother, who's been on a long trip between stars and who hasn't aged as a result.

reply

Sigourney obviously has aged between the original movie and this who knows when it will be released sequel. Been more than a decade!

Isn't it obvious in the first film? The repeated narrative around Pandora's nature that is all current and past living organism is still connected within Eywa. They try to transfer her mind to Navi body and failed but that doesn't mean its gone. I guess she just hangin around in the Eywa for a little while.
