One season wasn't enough

Some series are only good for one season. This one however ended too abruptly for one season. I think this could have been continued on for a bit longer.

I dont know. I left it after second episode. As I noticed that I dont care about any of those characters and can barely understand what is happening and who i who among all those endless characters.

Kids, adults, flashbacks, some shady villains.... House, creepy older people....

I thought it would be some fun mystery-kids-buddy-hunted-house show. And it wasnt that. And not one character was charismatic and interesting to root for.

I'm not sure about another season, but definitely one or even two more episodes. You're right, it ended much too abruptly and it left some unanswered questions. I guess they want the audience to make assumptions about certain things. I would have preferred the loose ends tied up.

All in all I liked it. It wasn't my favorite Harlan Coben mini series but it was pretty good.

I agree. It ended abruptly. What about Shira and Hannah' and their relationship? What about Ema and Whitney?
And where did the paramedic take Mickey's dad? Surely at the hospital they determined he was dead. But if the paramedic had taken him straight to the shelter, then they'd be wondering where he was taken.
The finale didn't feel like a final episode. Plots were being set up for more episodes with no resolution. Does the novel expand on the plot?

There were plot holes, i.e. Mickey's father's body not going to the hospital and not being in the coffin is a big one. My biggest question is why anyone would think his father is dead if they never found a body?? Maybe someone else's body was in the coffin but it never explains it. It's also never explained why there was no investigation by the hospital when a crash victim never arrived. Unless I missed something, this was a huge plot hole.

In terms of the relationships, it's been so many months since I've seen this but if I remember correctly, Ema didn't want anything more to do with Whitney after she betrayed her and I don't blame her. And again, if I remember correctly, it intimated that Shira and Hannah would be getting together.

I didn't read the novel so I have no idea how it ended. I do know that Coban wrote a follow up to this, titled Found, which may (or may not) explain more and I think it begins where Shelter leaves off. Don't quote me though, it's just something I read a while ago.

I assumed it would continue in another season. I liked it. Hope it will continue as I hate when shows end on a cliff hanger
