What did the Japanese think would happen next if Germans won?

My understanding is that the Nazi thought of themselves as the superior race. So I don't understand how the Japanese saw a win playing out. It seems clear to me that eventually the Germans would turn against them. At best the Japanese would have been second class members of that new world order.

Japanese were given the status of honorary Aryan race. The toothbrush moustache Hitler was known for was very popular within Japanese military at the time, that certainly was not because they were fans of Charlie Chaplin.

If you want to know what would happen if Germany won the ww2, I imagine what is portrayed in "The Man in the High Castle" would be pretty close.

You prediction is a subplot in Wolfenstein The New Order.

Germans, Italians and Japanese are all proud peoples, and fascists took advantage of that in their policies—particularly in regard towards the perception of the often meandering, pansy & degenerate populations of neighboring nations.

We are told that it was Jews that the Germans hated, but no ordinary German would approve of that policy of extermination. But since the Weimar Republic was disgraced and crushed, Semites were among those who were blamed, and the notion of restoring the Fatherland in the old style were motivated goals, the fascists used all this immorally.

In fact, as a culture, Germans probably had more in common with Jews than they do the British, French or Russians. This is why so many of them emigrated there, assimilated, prospered and thrived.

I know this topic isn’t about that, but it must be said since a great effort has been made to portray Germans as antisemitic in general. Not so, they were treated much better than the British Empire treated their colonies’ natives, especially in India. In desperation, at the close of WWII, Hitler and his Reich spiraled into barbarism and depravity—and so began the Holocaust.

Militant fascism aside, who really should be excluded as a world power?!

Look at the wealth of culture, progress and technology brought about by Germans and Japanese in the postwar world.

Fuck the Brits. Poor, sad peoples. Even their King is of German descent.

It costs a lot (in blood and money) to try to rule the whole world. Germany would have been happy to share power with the Japanese (and the Italians), at least for a while.

Or watch, "The Man in the High Castle" for an alternate take, on the partition of North America between Germany and Japan.

reply

Maybe they wanted to double cross the nazis themselves

The Japs already had Korea and most of China. Would expand into rest of Asia. Japan and Germany would split up Russia.

No Soviet expansion during the cold war, end of Communism? America still had the best nuclear and rocket scientists.

reply

Unconvincing. It may take 200 years, but when it comes to any leader entertaining the thoughts of world domination and supremacy - there is no sharing. Perhaps as mentioned above, the Japanese had their own double cross in mind.
