I have read books on Oppenheimer and enjoy the subject matter, and liked the movie.
But for the average movie goer I doubt they will like this movie too much.
I think they will all be shaking their heads coming out saying 'I was tricked, we shoulda went to see Barbie.'
I would also recommend watching the TV Series MANHATTAN

shareYou're right. Their marketing focused on the bomb then the movie was 90% the witch hunt and it's boring as hell. If you read the book, then this movie just brings some scenes to life. If you haven't and don't know the history, this movie didn't tell the story of the bomb at all. It's just his witch hunt and some boring as fuck science lab workplace politics bullshit. I do know the history but not that well and I wanted the story of the manhattan project brought to life spectacularly the way Nolan usually does. He made a pathetic retreat entertaining and interesting. He couldn't do it for something that's actually interesting?
