Dune 1 was so lame ... and there are supposed to be 4 of these, but I bet it gets strung out into an endless series.
Although Zendaya's silver transparent suit is kind of cute ... would be cuter if she could fill it out.
This is definitely one you should see on the big screen. It looks fantastic and has excellent cinematography and production design.
shareI thought the first installment looked cheap and featureless, like a videogame. The castle was just long corridors of nothing, same with the courtyards. The visions of life and installations on another planet was so boring.
One of the reasons I liked the original Dino De Laurentis productions was how well it was envisioned - but the problem with that to me was the Harkonnens should have been toned down, not exaggerated to the point of disgustingness, even if that is they way they were written into the book ( which I read as a kid ).
The scenery in that movie and the envisioning was way superior to this new series.
Over the years I have gone from a real fan of Dune, and then having read several of the sequels and gone through college, the Dune story became to me more of a fantasy-like series like Lord of the Rings with more of a Sci-Fi feel, but still fantasy which I was pulling away from toward hard Sci-Fi. I remember the book pleasantly, but I don't have the nostalgia I used to for it.
Other books and short stories by Frank Herbert were better.
I thought that only the first few Dune books were decent
Where it all went in the latter half of the saga is not something I was fond of - not just the direction, but also the writing.
If it's so lame, why you still watching it? People just hate watch these days? Must be too much time.

You know - there are also plenty of free streaming sites - that, of course, is also illegal.
Also, if you have an adblock on your browser, you are stealing revenue from various websites - while technically not illegal, many would argue that it's immoral.
Then again, as far as morality is concerned, hollywood is busy with social engineering - all of that trans/lgbtq/POC/whites-are-evil is a part of that. Meanwhile, big pharma funds 75 percent of all ad content on TV, and even bigger percentage of news content - big pharma also owns FDA which was originally supposed to regulate big pharma.
