Even though a lot of it was the fault of George's childish and idiotic meddling, Spielberg did in fact make Crystal Skull... so he has absolutely zero credibility on judging an Indy film at this point.

BTW, I do think this will be better than CS - which doesn't say much unfortunately. A wet turd could be better than that film.

James Cameron praised the recent Terminator sequels before they came out too. Look how they turned out.

Steven Spielberg and Stephen King love every adaptation, remake of their work nowadays. Dissent unless it's towards their political opponents is no longer a thing for those guys.

reply

I don't think that it could apply to Spielberg.

With King, yes, I have only read that the hate "The shining" (Kubrick). But he liked the other adaptions of his books.

Spielberg was likely paid by Disney to give a glowing review.

It seems time has passed Steven Spielberg. But before I get into that, I'd disregard anything he says about "D of D". As I understand it, he's an Executive Producer of the film - so obviously he is going to praise it. Anyway, that aside, speaking of time passing him by - I saw "The Fabelman's" a few days ago. Wow - corny, sappy, boring, slow, dis-interesting. Spielberg wrote and directed it. It seems just as I said - time has passed him by.

In cases like this you will rarely see a director or actor say something bad about a new movie.
