Maddie. Help.

Well, having suffered through 10 episodes of Maddie with the same facial expression that never changes--when holding a gun on a perp, on a date, having tacos, being serious with daddeo, I was relieved that, in spite of the awful implications, the writers left the end of episode 10 up for grabs with regard to Maddie returning as a cop. Or at all.

Harry is going to go postal and shall find her, and we shall undoubtedly see her again (unless the actress has decided to quit the show and that's why the plot went that way), but if she is rescued, we can only hope she decides to pack it in as a boot and go back back to her plan for law school.

It's not that she's IN the show, it's the role she's playing that's painfully bad so please less of her. Just go back to her original plan and get her into a law school and she can appear as a student mentored by Honey. Fine. But NOT as such an important character with all that screen time that drags down the casting.

Did the show runners realize by the end of episode 10 they had to disappear her, or at least get her to quit the force via a crisis?
If so, good job folks! :-))))

So far it's looking like she isn't really suited to the street cop job. I doubt they'll kill her off, but I wish she'd lighten up a bit. The tortured teen demeanor is something she should have grown out of by now.

I agree with the OP about her single-facial-expression-persona. It worked for her during her disgruntled teenage phase but as an adult it makes her a really boring character.

It's gotten me so down on the show that I've started lose interest in watching the rest. I'm also kind of hoping they don't find her after the kidnapping.

On this character, I am so with you. The cliched role of the character that is supposed to be so brilliantly smart but dumb at the same time.

On top of that, in the second season, she is told repeatedly by her Dad why he can't tell her certain things and mainly because of legal reasons and she keeps up with her petulant BS - remember, she worked for Honey Chandler! She should already understand such things.

It's time to write her out of the show - send her to law school already.

the showrunners had another idea: expand her role!
