New Trailer

I actually like this trailer more than the first one, as it focuses on the kids (which is something I thought the first trailer was lacking), but regardless, still looks to be a good film.

Looks great. I'm really enjoying the cinematography/camera work. Looks very spooky.

When will we hear pennywise talk....?

reply

there's a newer trailer where Pennywise, holding the paperboat, says to Georgie, "heeeere, take it !!"

reply

Yea seen that only took three months for us to hear his voice

reply

I'm waiting to hear him laugh. Mr. Curry's laugh as Pennywise was the stuff of legend.

The thing that annoys me is Pennywise's voice sounds creepy and unfriendly in the initial meet (shown in trailer) VS how Georgie described the clown in the book as speaking with "... a perfectly reasonable and rather pleasant voice..."
I mean Georgie doesn't run initially because of this.. :(

They did a really nice job with the blue eyes so I hope the actor can pull off the more charismatic side of Mr. Bob Gray.. fingers crossed y'all!

Like Freddy Pennywise talks; it's what he does. I hope this film kept this in mind and doesn't make Pennywise a monster of few words with a rather regrettable habit of resorting to jump scares whenever possible.

reply

Well hopefully that isn't the only thing he says to Georgie because if it is than I'm betting he isn't talking much in the film and will be the typical horror bad guy.

I dig it. The jump scares might give a generic feel and all that (as long as the movie doesn't rely on them, then I think they work for the trailer), but it's a pretty effective trailer. Pennywise? From these clips his look doesn't give me the creeps like Curry's version but so far I have to say he does seem to be an unnerving presence.

What's more, the camera work and cinematography is impressive, the kids couldn't look any more perfect, and overall this looks to be an honest adaptation. Whether the final result is lackluster or not, this certainly has my interest.
