Great movie with a lot of gore

My Wife had to leave after the opening lake scene.
I even had to look away one or twice during some scenes. Definite eyebrows up and mouth open scenes.
The gore is awesome.
Great addition to the Evil Dead franchise.
Not campy.

I found it to be pretty campy and underwhelming. The mother was good, but the rest of the cast was so bland that I was bored waiting for the setups to be paid off.

A lot of reviewers seem to love this and I admit that the setting was cool. I just didn't care for the family or the wrap around.

I meant not campy - like Bruce Campbell Evil Dead II campy.

PG13 gory! Imho it was ok but absolutely not Evil enough.

It was ok, but I followed it up with Evil Dead (2013) Unrated and that is a far better, much more gory Evil Dead movie in my opinion.

Evil Dead (2013) is great, best film in the series imo.
