The title says this is supposed to be a spoof or satire, but I wasn't really amused by it.

For some reason I kept waiting for a twist at the end to show that it was all in her mind from the pills and alcohol, but that never came.

Yeah, most people don't buy the "satire" thing, I am one of them.
Careful though, there are a few hardliners here who will tell you that you're wrong and that the writing was "brilliant".

I've seen them here.
It reminds of back when (showing my age here) Pulp Fiction came out, if someone didn't like it, they were labeled as "not getting it".

The spoof level was so low in this in a lot places, it was easy to miss.

That sounds kind of encouraging. A lot of these parody type stories overplay the comedy and make it like Naked Gun or something like that.
