Paul Feig blames Trump for his Ghostbusters failure

“They’re remaking Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford–you can’t do that!” Trump said in a rant that would echo many of his campaign speeches. “And now they’re making Ghostbusters with only women. What’s going on?!”

“I think some really brilliant author…needs to write a book about 2016 and how intertwined we were with Hillary [Clinton] and the anti-Hillary movement,” Feig said. “Everyone was at a boiling point. I don’t know if it was having an African American president for eight years that they were teed up, they were just ready to explode.”
He went on, “It’s crazy how people got nuts about women trying to be empowered or be in positions they weren’t normally in, and it was an ugly, ugly year.”

Hilarious. In this day an age a bad movie can no longer just be a bad movie. There's always some ridiculous excuse to why the movie stinks.

reply

Nobody really cares about how an election affects a movie and nobody cares if the president is a woman, wonen's rights don't really matter to anybody other than to Feig it would seem.

reply

Everything is Trump's fault. Hooray! Can we go home now?

reply

The problem with these garbage SJW movies is that the creative people behind them think they are entitled to a hit movie. It's the same logic behind the failure of Charlie's Angels and Elizabeth Banks saying it failed because of the supposed sexism of men.

reply

In reality not many of the lead actresses in these SJW movies are particularly popular draws at the box or dashing leading ladies and whether there are female leads or not really isn't relevant.

reply

True. There are few actresses that can be great action leads that draw business.. They are out there though.
