I haven't seen Japan fail so hard since WWII.

3 terribly taken penalties and the goalkeeper made such easy saves.

reply

Beat Germany, beat Spain, out for 3 bad penalties.

reply

It's one thing to hit it hard and it goes over, but they were all weak. Even the Croatian player took a page out of their book with his lame attempt.

reply

How does a team beat Germany and Spain but lose to Costa Rica?

reply

Being underdog and being favorite are two completely different things in football.
The coach needs to change tactics, the players have to deal with a dense defense.

reply

Costa Rica have done something Japan have not yet done...reach the Quarter Finals! They achieved it in 2014. Japan have fallen at the last 16 stage four times now.

reply

After Japan's defeat, (and in such cruel way) I lost the desire to continue watching the World Cup.
A world cup without at least one underdog in the advanced stages it's not the same.

reply

Painful. And watching Brazil and South Korea. More pain.

reply

Cheer for the referees.

reply

Morocco are still in the comp, but I'll be shocked if they beat Spain later today.

reply

That’s what pressure does to you.

reply

They had their chances but ultimately ran out of steam in the end.
