Is Star Wars: The Acolyte set to be the queerest Star Wars entry yet?

https://gaymingmag.com/2024/03/star-wars-the-acolyte/

The series is created and helmed by Leslye Headland, known for her work on Bachelorette (2012), Sleeping with Other People (2015), and co-creating Netflix’s Russian Doll with Natasha Lyonee and Amy Poehler. Leslye is a lesbian and married her partner Rebecca Henderson, who also stars in The Acolyte, in 2017.

The series stars Amandla Stenberg, who came out as non-binary using she/her and they/them pronouns in 2016. While initially identifying as pansexual, she redefined herself as gay in 2018.

Alongside Stenberg, the series also features Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll) who is married to the series creator Lesyle Headland, Charlie Barnett (Chicago Fire & Tales of the City) who says he realized he was gay at the age of 13, and Abigail Thorn (actor and YouTuber) who came out as a trans woman in 2021.

With such an exciting line up of LGBTQ+ cast and creatives, we’re excited to see how this plays out! Here’s hoping we some of that queer creativity play out into the storylines on screen.

Elon Musk Reacts To ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Creator: ‘Crazier Than The South Park Parody’
https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-reacts-to-star-wars-the-acolyte-creator-crazier-than-the-south-park-parody

Musk took to X and commented on an old clip of the director/showrunner talking about watching “Frozen” as an adult and was captivated by “the concept of true love being between two sisters and not a heterosexual relationship. She said it “inspired” her to create a similar story that her parents would have allowed her to watch when she was a younger “queer” person.

“Reality is actually crazier than the South Park parody!” Musk wrote, referencing a “South Park” episode that torched the President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, for recent Disney box office flops, specifically “Star Wars” movies that have had little to no connection to the original trilogy.

In other words, Elon confirms how lame he is by invoking a months old South Park episode. From which the adoption of its chickenshit catchphrase as been lame since the day after it was broadcast.

I can be lame too. "Put a South African billionaire heir to an emerald mine in it. Make it privileged and out of touch but somehow important to all the bros who are looking for a new daddy.."

Wow, sounds like SW fans have their very own Star Trek Discovery with this show

Oh gee, a Star Wars fanfic for rug-munchers. Pass. I wouldn't watch any more of their garbage, even if you paid me. In fact, I quit after watching their horrible "Boba Fart" show.

My only consolation about this show is the fact that Leslye Headland was fired and kicked out of Walt Disney studios a while back for doing a terrible job in a leadership position, and being a heinous bitch to the CGI dept. at Marvel and driving away all the good animators. The former Weinstein assistant (who no doubt helped procure many of his victims for him) and her shitty show can both go rot as far as I'm concerned.
