what Stormfront said in German (spoiler-ish)

I know this question will come up, so this was what she said:

Erinnerst du dich an den Tag Frederick, Chloe hat die Arme aus dem Autofenster gestreckt. Wir haben den perfekten Platz am Fluss gefunden, im Schatten eines Apfelbaums. Es war das erste Mal, dass Chloe frische Äpfel gegessen hat.

Translation:
Do you remember the day, Frederick, Chloe put her hands out of the car window? We found the perfect place at the river, in the shadow of an apple tree. It was the first time that Chloe ate fresh apples.

Thanks!

Dang it almost makes me sympathetic towards her

Right?!

It wasn't just pointless rambling, it was good, poignant writing.

Came here looking for exactly this, thank you!
I wonder who she was talking about...oh, probably her daughter.
Man she definitely took one hell of a hit to have been knocked back a good 70 years or whatever.

Yeah, the kind of thing one would go on about when they are dying...

Speaking of "knocking," gotta say Aya Cash really knocked it out of the park with her acting this season.

She started out as annoying, and when she was being sarcastic towards Starlight, it was downright grating. But it all made sense when she showed her true colors to Homelander and later Ryan (with the "white genocide" thing). Her phoniness wasn't bad acting, it was Aya Cash PORTRAYING bad acting from a racist, paranoid, very alienated centenarian TRYING to act young.

Her white power speeches were just right, to me. Passionate without being cartoon-evil, and actually made her seem sympathetic.

It's not lost on me, either, the irony of Aya Cash being jewish herself.

And I have to add I'm equally blown away by nearly all the other actors in this series, Starr most of all.

Appreciate the translation!

I was too happy to see her burned to a near crisp to care about what she was saying. ☺

I did wonder because it was pretty long.

Her accent is terrible, but at least the grammar is correct (if you add a comma between "Tag" and "Frederick").

Guess she was a grammar nazi :)

reply

Yeah, I could tell her German pronunciation was horrible even though I don't speak German myself.
