Several people we know have described this as "hilarious." A few episodes in and we've grinned once or twice, but mostly feel the premise is greatly overwrought. Beetlejuice was funny, this is barely slightly amusing. If this is what passes for good in TV today, it's pretty depressing.

We laugh out loud at some point every episode, but then we've always been able to relax and enjoy things without worrying about whether our sense of humor met with the approval of humorless schmucks who wouldn't know a joke if they got buried in them in a closet.

shareThe ghosts are funny. Watch the British one also. At first I didn't like it after watching the American version because the ghosts were different but the British one is actually really funny and good also. I do love both show's ghosts.
