People don't like this movie because

It doesn't have a villain that is easy to identify with. Everyone going to horror movies wants the villains to be troubled characters or monsters that they can relate to or think they can relate to. The normies don't have anything they can grab onto in this movie. The villain is a faceless, shapeless void. It also requires critical thinking to draw your own meaning and parallels.

I'm annoyed with people ragging on this movie simply because they don't understand the genre.

People don't like symbolism. Especially one they can't figure out. Plain and simple.

People could relate to the shark in Jaws?

Nice try.

I didn’t like it because it was a terrible film.

Indifferently acted by Kaluuya. Irritatingly acted by Palmer. Yuen was wasted in a thankless, pointless role and plot point. That salesman and film director were just ludicrous.

No tension at all. The one suspenseful moment was just a prank, easily defused. The cause behind all this was goofy as hell: a sombrero-hubcap alien who hides in an immovable cloud NO-ONE notices for a month…sure, and next the Sun won’t rise for a fortnight w/o raising eyebrows.

Just a stupid film; poorly written, worded, executed. With Us, Peele bit off way more than we could chew. With Nope, there’s nothing but melting fat to chew. Starts off illogical, gets worse and more frantic (and yet still sluggish) as it moves inexorably forward.

But at least the soundtrack was bombastic and annoying as hell.

I agree that Us sucked a bit but I feel the opposite of every other statement you make about this film. Completely opposite. I have more respect for Peele after seeing this.

No, this happens often with people, when they like a movie and others don't, they instantly go to the "you didn't get it, that's why you don't like it."

Believe it or not, not everyone likes a film about a flying cowboy hat alien who turns into a flying blanket near the end, the movie wasn't scary, wasn't that funny, and wasn't that interesting. It's sad because for me it started out great but by the end, I was already bored. Easily Peele's worst, I personally liked US a lot, even more than Get Out, but this was crap

reply

So you admit that you don't understand cosmic horror. Point proven lol

If someone doesn't share my opinion, they're wrong because *insert cope here*!

I can't dispute what this person is saying so I'll resort to insult! Nice!

Where is the insult?
