The writers relied on fan-fiction? What fan-fiction? There's no He-Man fan-fiction at all, let alone stuff that chose this direction.
I thought the "girl power" complaints about part one were bullshit. He-Man DIED. There's a reason he's not around as much. It's a logical part of the plot. He. Is. DEAD. I do think that argument could apply to the finale of this show. The big battle is Teela vs. Evil Lynn, He-Man and Skeletor have to team up to beat a "girl" (Evil Lynn), and they barely fight each other, and Andra becomes Man-At-Arms. I don't mind strong female leads - I saw Ghostbusers Afterlife last weekend and loved that - and didn't think that argument was valid in part one, but they went a bit overboard in part 2.
I didn't mind Savage He-Man. I kinda enjoyed it, actually. But yeah, being able to transform whenever he wants without the sword and everyone else doing it became a little confusing and anti-climactic. Evil Lynn was both the Sorceress and "He-Man" (her own champion) at the same time. But He-Man and Skeletor were champions too? They dwarfed He-Man a little too much int he finale.
There is a bit of a precedent for some of this though. In the old movie, Skeletor becomes the Master of the Universe for a brief time.
I thought the lack of He-Man issue was going to get better, not worse. He's in it more, but made second fiddle by the end of it. I didn't care for that.
I thought the action and animation overall are still good. Even the story isn't bad. But that finale bugged me. They got really carried away with the Evil Lynn stuff. I thought she was going to turn on Skeletor, but not turn on him and try to be his replacement. They should have pursued Savage He-Man and Skeletor rather than introducing Savage He-Man - which ended up being pointless - and introducing Evil Lyn as the Big Bad.
Teela was "crying" her mom abandoned her? She DID abandon her.

There is fan-fiction all over the internet for EVERYTHING. I'm basically saying that the writing is horrible and amateurish.
The girl power complaints were not BS. He-Man was previously the hero BUT the new He-Man shows don't have one superhero. He-Man was a show for little boys to watch and She-Ra was the show for little girls. The He-Man show has been taken over by Teela and Andra. The Queen even got involved as an ace fighter pilot while the King is an average fighter who is saved by Andra's superior fighting skills. Give me a break! I doubt the men saved the day in the new She-Ra show. I don't think I could stand watching She-Ra BUT I might have to hate-watch it.
Also, the hero should not be killed. They killed He-Man and Adam. They also turned Adam into a scrawny weakling who has to rely on magic to win battles.
I don't like Savage He-Man since he is both a rip-off of the Incredible Hulk and a big dumb brute. He-Man was transformed from a superhero to a big dumb brute. That's not a good role model for boys and it takes the show in a totally different direction.
The sorceress had to leave Teela with daddy while she became the protector of Castle Grayskull and the world. I don't consider that abandonment since the sorceress had a higher calling that required personal sacrifice. I still contend that viewers of an action/adventure show don't need to see the heroes crying about their various issues.
I thought the animation was improved over the original show but the story was lousy.

The old cartoon blows, let's just get that out of the way. There was NO story. It was fluff. Paper thin fluff. Each episode had the same formula that ended n a morality tale. This show has its issued, but is an improvement over the original in every way.
He was dead, it's the definition of bullshit complaint. He-Man wasn't pushed aside for a girl - like he was in part 2 - he was dead. There was a very valid reason he wasn't around.
Prince Adam was a complete and total pussy in the old show. There are countless jokes about how lame he is. He's mocked and called "gay" all the time
Not a good role model for little boys, heroes should cry, LOL. What is that?
The Sorceress absolutely abandoned her family.
There was definitely too much of women saving men in that last battle. Marlena, Teela, Andra - they all pushed the guys aside.

The old cartoon was primarily an infomercial for the toy line BUT they had stories for over sixty episodes during each season. I will say that the new show's animation is much better due to improved technology BUT I don't think the story in this show is any better than the old ones. I also didn't appreciate Netflix only dropping the first half of the series and then delaying the second half of the show by weeks/months. It stunk so bad that they stealthily dropped the second half of the episodes. This show is just a big-budget imitation of the original.
I thought Prince Adam was cool in the original show. A serious critic would not have called Prince Adam gay or made jokes about him.
Cartoons and movie characters are role models for children. Many children and adults emulate the behavior that they see on television and in the movies. Our heroes shouldn't be crying during a crisis since that would encourage viewers to crumble when times are tough. Hollywood and the comics both had codes that prevented certain antisocial behaviors from appearing in their products.

You think a show about a women figuring out that she dosnt need to be a abusive relationship is nihilistic. Ok. The Comic Code did nothing but hold the comic artform back and kept everybody thinking that "COMICS ARE FOR KIDS' for Decades. Im not a fan of censorship. Also i don't find people calming talking about your feelings to be crying. If i want to watch people crying ill watch Star Trek Discovery. And they really weren't doing all that much when the fighting started. Yes Teela tried to talk Lyn out not destory the Universe. But that wrong, because that talking about feelings. Give me a break. Why dont you stop watching Youtube Clickbait, Think for yourself and stop inserting your stupid political narrative into something that not all that political. If i want to watch a Woke MOTU show, ill watch new She-Ra.

When I watch fantasy shows and movies, I want minimal crying and discussions of relationships. I want the heroes to suck it up and save the world. You can go watch your wimpy shows about feelings and relationships.
I didn't put any politics in my posts and don't ever tell me not to watch a youtube channel. Clownfish tv is an informative youtube channel that covers movies, tv, comics and pop culture. After watching their He-Man Part 2 preview, I was prepared for the disappointing plot.

There's nothing wrong with Evil Lyn leaving Skeletor. He treats them all like shit. But her showing character development in both part 1 & 2 - and that development being strongly implied she was going to turn on him - only to have her become the new big bad and dwarf He-Man and Skeletor? Sorry, no. The girl power criticisms were crap before, but valid in that last episode or 2. This show is too much about her and Teela in a bad way (at the expense of the main characters).

Teela did nothing remotely gay in this show. But some how she a rabid lesbian. The show even ended with Adam and Teela holding hands. Like they might have feelings for each other. But she the biggest lesbian to you guys. You guys think a bad haircut makes someone gay. Talking about losing ALL credibility. Maybe you should stop watching CATSHIT.TV and think for yourself for once. And as far as Killing off the protagonist, Transformers the Movie killed Optimus Prime in the first 5 Minutes and that a cult classic. And unlike in this show, Optimus didn't come back in that movie. At least when people back then were complaining that Optimus was Sideline by "effeminate" HotRod. They were kids, not adults that act like kids.
