Let me get this straight....

So this Buzz is supposedly the real life character which the toy we see in Toy Story is based upon... cool cool, but this Buzz is from a space faring future, and the toy story is in unfolding in our time... did anyone ever touch on this?

Yeah, tons of kids movies in 1995 depicted long term lesbian marriages with kids and grandkids. It was all the rage back then!

Maybe it was in the Toy Story universe. Toys come to life. Their universe isn’t ours.

I’ve also seen the theory that Lightyear is a remake of the movie that Andy saw.

Either works.

also the movie is depressing and the message is to give up your dreams and accept mediocrity

Isnt that the message of almost all kids movies? Know your place and fit into society was also a message of, say, wreck it ralph or lego movie to name a few popular ones.
