Quick decision!

Dany seeks an armistice. Well that's a turn of events from last episode.

reply

Of course Cersei won't accept, but Dany looks like the better person for making the offer and giving at least some priority to the war between the living and the dead.

It's hard to make a person who's staging a mass invasion and conquest look like a good person, so the writers have to throw in these things.

reply

Yeah I'm just sayin it was like turning on a dime.

reply

It was Tyrion's idea. Not hers. She's being heavily influenced by the people around her to not just swoop in and take the capital. But really, all they have to do is depose Cersei. Sending someone to assassinate her would end the Westeros drama pretty quickly.

reply

Right that's what I mean. All she has to do is ride her dragons to kings landing and demand cersei be turned over. The end. She could fly right to cerseis window at night. The end. So in this episode we see her conquer the Lannister army. And then the next scene she is sitting down doing whatever Jon snow and Tyrion say. When she literally can win the iron throne in about an hour of she wanted

reply

Yeah, it would have been a good way of consolidating storylines if they had done that and sent Cersei into exile north of the wall. Then she becomes Night Queen and thats a way of keeping her in the fight in a different way. Or just kill her off. Because as of now, all of her political plotting has become really redundant.

reply

Redundant to you and i perhaps
But Cersei is living in a BS world of politics in her own head...deadly threats from the North are the last things on her agenda
Love the character but yup...she is a typical dummy of a leader

reply

Yeah, the difference between her and Jaime is that he has been humbled by all of things that has happened to him, he has changed and grown as a character. The only thing holding him back at this point is his twisted devotion to her. She on the other hand, has learned nothing from her experiences, she just doubles down on the crazy. She has no hand left to play but she thinks she does. In that respect she is a lot like Littlefinger. Like if she thinks the WW are going to wipe out her enemies for her she clearly doesn't seem to understand that even if that happens, the enemies who get killed will just be added to the ranks of the dead. She's fucked one way or the other.

reply

And that was the reason her father thought so little of her. He never felt she was a good strategist. And he was right. Without Jaime and without Qyburn and wildfire she'd have been sentenced by the High Sparrow and likely been beheaded by now.

I miss Tywin (both the incredible performance and the character...)
I wonder how he would deal with/scheme against the new reality...
I think he would be blind to it all...he was more of a grainery/shipyard/money sort of guy

Those are actually much better plans than Tyrian's. I'm surprised Dany is still listening to him since many of his plans have backfired since he became her adviser.
