It's still, just TV...

So I watched a bit of Breaking Bad, a few episodes, after friends and media hyping it being cinematic, better than movies and not just another TV show... etc...

Sorry... It felt very small screen, very TV show... Yeah, it's probably better than most TV shows, but not at the level of the first couple of seasons of Mad Men, Game of Thrones or even The Wire... Or even a solid mini-series like Chernobyl, The Night of, or Devs... A far cry from actual movies...

It's not bad. I don't think I'll watch any more of it. Not at the level people talk about it as having...

I agree with you. I got interested to try a few episodes but couldn't really see what all the hype was about.

What did you expect? The second coming of Jesus?

The hype was pretty chill back when it was first on TV. There was some hype for the first two seasons, but it wasn't until around late season 3/season 4 that everyone went super nuts. Because that's when the show seriously takes off. It's still great before that, but... too bad. I feel sorry for people who get all wrapped up in years and years of hype and then finally watch with their arms folded across their chest thinking "OK, show. Impress me. Now."

Of course, you'll say, "I didn't watch it like that I totally gave it a fair chance lol." No, you didn't. You couldn't.
